Recorded Lleyn Sheep

The Lleyn breed has spread widely over recent years from its home base on the Lleyn Peninsula in NW Wales. It has proved particularly popular in the lowlands and improved uplands where its potential to produce a large crop of lambs (typically 180 - 200%) that grow quickly to market weight can be fully exploited.

Recorded Lleyn sheep are also proving increasingly popular as more and more breeders take advantage of the benefits brought about from using recorded stock. Many Lleyn breeders in Wales are members of the Llywio Lleyn Group.
