North Country CheviotsThe group was formed in 1999 by five breeders in South and West Wales with the aim of utilising modern breeding techniques to improve productivity whilst maintaining desirable breed characteristics.

Biggest of the hill breeds combining thriftiness and healthiness with prolificacy and strong maternal qualities.

Produces a quality carcass which retains leanness and conformation right through from late summer to early spring

North Country Cheviot as a crossing sire

Rams have consistently proved successful as crossing sires
Female crosses are in constant demand
Male crosses can be taken to high weights without becoming overfat
Combines the best characteristics of sire and dam – increased size, hybrid vigour and hardiness from the sire and mothering and milkiness from the dam.
